The GO! and Sewline results...

I decided Sunday morning bright and early to try the GO! and Sewline pen....and I have to say I love them both. I cannot believe the number of hexies I can cut out in such a sort period of time. It is amazing. And I'm loving the Sewline pen.

I only had an hour, and in that hour I had over 100 hexies cut and 50+ glue basted.  This was so exciting after doing hundreds of them for another quilt and cutting and basting them all by hand.  I am seeing progress in such a short period of time, which for me is really exciting.  I haven't done any fussy cutting with the GO!, but may have to try that next.  I hope you all are having as much fun as I am!

Lovely Colours, do you have the regular Go or the baby? how many layers can you cut at one time?

Was there much wastage with the Go? I am a scrooge and have been wandering what it was like.

I have the GO! (not the baby). I hate waste too so I cut my strips 3-1/8 wide and then subcut by 2-3/4". You can fold the strips and cut (before doing the 2-3/4 cut), but then there is more waste. I could cut up to 15 at a time (it does depend on your fabric). Believe me, my waste is minimal.

What dies are using using Kristen as there didn't seem to be a 1" die in the range that I could see. I have the 1" Sizzix die to cut the papers but the 1.25" for fabric is too small I think and also Ebay seller hasn't sent me the die either.

You did a lot in such a short period of time. How fun!

I am super excited to see this because my awesome husband surprised me last week when he had the Accuquilt Go cutter delivered to our house. I was shocked and thrilled.

I LOVE hexies and told him the hexagon die is in my top three I want to buy first.

Wow, that's amazing results. Fussy cutting I trace & cut out about 12 - 14 flowers (84 -98 hexagons) in an evening, glue them the next evening & then sew then over the next two. Sounds like I need a GO! Tracee xx

Which die are you using as there didn't seem to be a 1" or 1.5" die?

Great colours! I am very nervous to even consider glue basting. I assume that a GO! is like the die cutting systems for scrapbooking

Wonderful work and so so speedy!
I found I used up the sewline pen much quicker than anticipated. The Original Pen plus one refill pack did about 30 Hexie flowers, can you let me know how you went with the glue and quantity?

I bought the Go! Baby and the hexie template. I have been cutting a 3.5" square to cut the hexies. Will try cutting the pieces a little smaller. Also, I am only cutting 6 at a time, but then I have all the petals for my flowers.

The Sewline glue pen is fabulous as well! Now Fons and Porter have a glue pen out as well -- looks just like the Sewline only the color of the pen is different.

You can even take the whole "Hexie Experience" a little further ... I have a Cricut Expression and am using it to cut my paper templates. I can get 30 hexies from one 12"x12" sheet of paper. Could probably get more but if I played with the layout in the software program that I use (Sure Cuts Alot!) Sure saves money and my hand from having to cut all those hexies out. I found a package of 600 precut 1" hexies at my LQS and they were $19.00; I was able to cut 750 1" hexies using 25 sheets of cardstock I picked up for $3.50.
