Some News ...

Hi,
just wanted to share a few pictures.
It is progressing well - this project. It is beginning to look like a nice quilt! :-D
3 row finished - and put together ...
"flowers" for the next row are almost ready....
and some of the stitcheries are already done!
I am really loving this ... can't decide if it should turn out like a nice bed-spread, or a nice "comforter" on the sofa ... Guess it is going to be on the sofa ... i don't want to "hide" it in the bedroom! ;-)
Last week I received Issue 4 of the Vignette Magazine ... I am definitely going to try out Leanne's suggestion for quilting ... when I reach that point! :-D
Happy Hexing !

Hexagon Rows

I have been joining blocks and joining blocks.....
And I now have my three and a half rows ready for the stitched white hexagons to be done before I then join the rows together.....
And look what I have done.....
Set myself a goal to have this completed by the end of 2011.....
Not sure if that was such a great idea as I think I am going to hand quilt it the same as Leanne has done in "Vignette" Issue 4......
Until next time, Happy Stitching....

A newcomer

Hi everybody! This is my first post, and I am so happy to be a member of this blog! I haven`t started on my hexagon quilt yet, but yesterday I ordered 600 hexagon paper templates :) As soon as they arrive I will get to it. I think I will use fabrics from my scrap collection on this first quilt. Can`t wait to get started!

Have fun sewing!

Dusted off the Hexi Box

I thought I had better dig out the hexi's this week as they have been tucked away since the retreat and I have been keeping myself busy with retreat projects and swap projects.....
I have now joined the last 18 blocks into blooms of four with a white
centre and sorted the ones that have a white corner hexagon.......
So no more individual blooms floating around the house....
I now have three and a half rows to join together......
Until next time, Happy Stitching

My First Hexies

Hi I have just started making hexies. I am plan these to go into a single bed quilt for my adorable grand daughter, who has not long gone into a big bed. She had to give up her baby bed for her new brother due soon. I am making them out of my scrap stash. I thought it would be a fun way to try and use some up. lol

Blooms

It's been a while since i posted about my hexagons. I've been slowly adding to the pile. Not sure how many since i last posted so i just took a photo of the lot.
& all spread out
 I love the bright colours.
Happy Stitching,

A new hexagon quilt!

Its been a while since I last posted on here too but life gets in the road sometimes LOL. I have finished as far as I can go with my Lily and Will quilt. Just waiting on border fabric and then I'll get it organised so it can be quilted next Autumn. I have already started a new one though. Thought I would like to try 3/4" hexies and have totally jumped out of my comfort zone with the fabrics too. The jelly roll is 'Fresh flowers' by Deb Strain for Moda. I was totally taken in by the gerberas and hope that it will not be too bright for my liking. I want it to be totally different than the vignette quilt so we will have to see how it evolves. They are just so addictive and I even have my mum trying a 1" quilt of all blues/whites. Someone else on here was doing one very similar.

Hi - my very first entry!

Well, I am a blog-newbie (never wrote anything before) ... but I have been following this blog for the past months. It is great to see how many different possibilities this hexagon quilt has.
So, I thought that I would try it out, and also enter some pictures.
I am working on the scrappy look - OK, I admit not all the fabrics come from my stash - but it is allowed to purchase scraps too - right !? ;-)
I only got 250 paper templates to work with - so I have to continously sew blocks together to "liberate" templates - so 2 rows done, the 3rd is on its way!
So, looking forward to continue following this blog - and sometimes add some news of my own!
Have a great day!

Addicted to hexagons and late starting blogger!

Have been viewing for a few months now the great work, so just had to get myself organised and join in the fun of making hexagons and blogging . . . so here goes.  My fabric is from Jelly Roll Curio. I found it quite easy to cut from the jelly roll.
