A Light-bulb Moment

I have been quietly collecting fabric for a hexie quilt for some time now, but been a little slow in getting started. I knew what colors I was attracted to for this project, but something didn't quite fit. I decided to take photos of part of my hexie stash and see if I could work it out. As soon as I saw them all together - I knew my problem - I needed another color to make the others 'ping'. So, after a few experiments I came up with this - soft reds. Unfortunately this one is from a 'Christmas Fun' project so it's out of bounds, but  I'm hoping that I can hunt down something similar as I trawl the shops and online :) Now I can't wait to see a finished flower!

Cheers for now, Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I totally see what you mean. I was experiencing the same with a Hexie quilt. I am using scraps of oriental fabrics, not any particular pattern. I decided to use navy diamonds and I got that pop I needed. One of these days I will add my progress as a post.
