I have been quietly collecting fabric for a hexie quilt for some time now, but been a little slow in getting started. I knew what colors I was attracted to for this project, but something didn't quite fit. I decided to take photos of part of my hexie stash and see if I could work it out. As soon as I saw them all together - I knew my problem - I needed another color to make the others 'ping'. So, after a few experiments I came up with this - soft reds. Unfortunately this one is from a 'Christmas Fun' project so it's out of bounds, but I'm hoping that I can hunt down something similar as I trawl the shops and online :) Now I can't wait to see a finished flower!

Love the red! Perfect for the pop! Thanks for your blog. It is inspiring to me our here in Lehi, Utah!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI totally see what you mean. I was experiencing the same with a Hexie quilt. I am using scraps of oriental fabrics, not any particular pattern. I decided to use navy diamonds and I got that pop I needed. One of these days I will add my progress as a post.

ReplyDeleteI love it with the red. Looking forward to seeing some made up. Have fun.
