I was trimming the white borders on my Hexagon quilt
and as I got to each corner I used the rulers'
corner to get a nice square edge....
As I rounded my fourth corner I realised I had made
a terrible mistake and had cut it 4 inches from
the inner Hexi and not the outer Hexi.....
Oh dear what have I done!!!!!
Not Happy and that is all I have to say.....
Kate
Have I told you just how annoyed I am at myself for doing this!!!!!
ReplyDeletenot to worry i did the same with a hexagon quilt i had made, and i added a 2 inch floral border on it and when it was finished it looked alot better than the original. I was very proud of my mistake. The only thing was i had to make the binding in the same fabric i had used in the 2 inch border as the fabric i wanted for the binding seemed to make the quilt look smaller if that makes sense ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, shizzy ditz! Don't you hate that. But knowing you you'll come up with a wonderful solution in no time! I feel for you.
ReplyDeleteNot to worry, a few more seams an all will be well..
ReplyDeleteA good stiff drink and some choccies....... I am sure it will be fine .
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate it when that happens - and I'm sure it's happened to all of us at one time or another. Add another border - see it as an opportunity not a problem. It will look fabulous when you've finished and only you will know that it wasn't meant to be like that....
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of another border too.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate, I felt for you when I read your post! I know the feeling. I am sure you will come up with a fabulous alternative! Thanks for the post because it will just make us aware of this when we come to do our borders. Have a great day, Suzi
