another wednesday
Wednesday again and this time I have made no flowers, but I figured out how to continue. This is a trial and so I keep it small. My 8 flowers are enough to make a small quilt. First I made a format and then choose a green fabric for the background. I made 20 hexies and positioned them between the flowers. So know I am one step further.

Almost two jelly rolls down
I now have 4 rows put together ..the pic doesnt do the colours justice. I also cant stand far enough away to take a full shot lol. Will take an outside shot next update. Im still addicted and "hexing" most nights. I have decide to make mine the size of a queen size bed. I will do the white borders and think I will add some hexagons along the edge of the border...still thinking... I am over 100+ hexagons now!!! Have about 20 more to go on the second jelly roll, then out the third one will come....cest la vie...Im Addicted!!!!
Happy Stitching

My hexagons
I've been reading a lot of the posts and sewing along a bit. I had ordered the first two issues of Leanne's magazine and had to wait until they arrived this week to see what I needed to do.
I'm doing scrappy flowers, using 5 inch charm squares. Here is my box of hexies.
And these are the flowers I've put together so far. Have to wait to get the third magazine now to see what to do next.

A good start
coming along nicely.
Coming along nicely I am not going to do a full size bedspread,as I want it to throw over the back of a sofa in my conservatory.
I have not bought any fabric yet, been using up what I had,so the colours are very random. Not much fabric left now, soon time to go out looking for more.

Can I Join In Too?
This is my first post on this blog....is great to be able to join in the fun. I have only started stitching for the hexagon quilt this weekend. They are fun to do.
So this is my one and only flower so far. I don't have all that many scraps in my stash so I decided to use a couple of jelly rolls and they are a great size for it.....am loving all the tips and inspiration from all of you. Happy stitching!

Finally!!!!!!
I joined this blog way back when??? And finally I have started to organise my hexies for the quilt-a-long.
While away on holidays and sitting in the van I have cut and glued some hexies. Also have some stepping stones ready to stitch.
Hope to get some stitched as we travel home over the next 3000 kms.

More Hexis and a White Picket Fence
A few more Hexis and my new picket fence, need to speed up a bit with the flowers or they'll be cushions not a quilt....
Finally.... some Hexagons to show!!
I have been VERY SLOWLY plodding along with my hexagons. I had decided that I would not use the added stitchery hexagons. I started sewing my hexagons together and had about 10 of them sewn together and then changed my mind about the stitchery hexagons! I did some reverse sewing and have now started to add in some stitchery hexagons!!
This will be a seriously LONG TERM project and I don't expect to have it finished any time soon!!

Scrappy Hexies
Hi there, this is my first post here. I'm so happy that I came across this blog and have had the pleasure of seeing so many wonderful hexagon quilts. Thought I would share this one that I've been working on lately, it will eventually be the center of a large bed sized quilt. I'll add borders as I go, not sure what yet, but more scraps for sure.

Technique.....
Hi Ladies! I just thought I would share this tip for those who don't pop over to my blog. I have learnt that when gluing my papers to my fabric, I put my glue stick away slightly from the edge of the papers. I find this helps when stitching them together as the needle glides through VERY easily than when the glue is right at the edge. Also, with your very first strip, I go from edge of fabric to edge of fabric, then fold over.

My pile of Joy!!
Hi Everyone,
My first post here, and in fact ever on a blog!
Wow, I have loved this project. I have never really completed much hand sewing before, so when I first started this I found it daunting, that lasted about the first hour. Now it is pure joy! I always have a clip lock bag with a few flowers ready to sew everywhere I go.
The majority of my fabrics are from the Oh Cherry Oh range from Moda. Here's my pile, I was not sure about the colours when I first started, but have fallen in love with them as the pile grew.
Only about another 40 flowers to go, quite a few more blue and pink ones, and then the task of working out what rows I will create.
I've already picked out the fabric for the 2nd hexagon quilt, and am eagerly waiting for it to arrive from the US. (Monica Solorio-Snow's new fabric range Happy Mochi Yum Yum) I'm just as addicted to the cutting and gluing , so no doubt I will start on this one as soon as the fabric arrives.
Till next time, take care!

Blue Hexagon Flowers
Hi!
My name is May Kristin,
from KrispQuilt,
and this is my first post here.
I have really enjoyed seeing all your beautiful flowers.
You are all so clever!
I've been on the list for a long time, but haven't posted before...
...due to busy life...
...and...
...something in my head telling me I need to make more hexagon flowers
before I can even think of posting here...!
But I've come to a conclusion that I will ignore that little voice,
so here I am with my blue hexagon flowers which
hopefully will be turned in to a quilt someday!
Wish you all a wonderful summer!
See you soon, I hope! :-)
May Kristin
Checking in.....
I have another 21 hexagons to add to my quilt top. I have also started stitching the fillers. I recently hurt my back so I have learnt to stitch flat on my back. The hexagons saved me from certain insanity - four walls can become very hmmmmmmm. The best part has been revisiting the fabrics from past projects. This quilt will certainly be a story of my past "sewings" Happy Hexagons.........

Final Hexagon Prep Session!
I have spent my last day preparing the rest
of the white Hexagons for my quilt.......
All cut, glued, traced and ready for stitching.....
I have also basted the last of the blooms so from here on in it is just stitching, stitching & more stitching.....
Time to give my glue pen a hard earned rest *Grin*
Until next time, Happy Stitching

I still have a bit more of that to do, 22 Blooms to go!
I am loving my colours all piled up together.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Thought it was about time I showed some more of my hexies.
At last count, I'd made about 70.
I am finding them really good to take out ... easy to pick up and put down.
My husband spent 6 days in hospital last week so they were a nice distraction for me.
This weekend I'll be writing school reports and trying to finish a gift for a friend. Hope you find some stitching time too.
